MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA

PanVanguard is a global community for Black entrepreneurs who own and operate leveraged businesses. Please review the criteria below before applying to ensure there is a strong mutual fit.

Who PanVanguard is for

Who PanVanguard is NOT for

You are a likely fit if most of the following are true:

  • Identity

    • You identify as Black or Afro-descendent, including the global African diaspora.

  • Role & Commitment

    • You are the CEO, COO, President, General Manager, or hold an equivalent role with full general management responsibility for the business (strategy and operations).

    • Leading this business is your main occupation (not a side project).

  • Economic Stake

    • You are a founder/owner or hold meaningful long-term economic upside in the business (equity, options, carry, or performance-based profit share).

  • Business Maturity

    • Your company generates at least 500,000 USD in annual revenue OR has raised over 2 million USD in capital.

    • The business is growing or stabilizing (not in severe decline).

    • You use people, capital, and/or technology to decouple growth from your own personal hours (an operating company, not a solo practice).

  • Business Model

    • You primarily sell products (digital or physical), transactions, or productized services.

    • You do not primarily sell your own time as a consultant, coach, or freelancer.

  • Mindset & Values

    • You are coachable, open to feedback, and willing to adjust based on what you learn from peers.

    • You give as much as you receive: you are willing to invest in others, not only extract value or pitch your business.

    • You are willing to be honest about what is not working and help create psychological safety for others.

    • You take your peers’ time seriously and are willing to treat monthly peer advisory sessions like board meetings: preparing in advance, showing up consistently, and following through on commitments.

    • You resonate with PanVanguard’s Pan-African mission and see your own success as connected to the advancement of Black communities globally.

You are likely not a fit at this time if:

  • You are a consultant, coach, or expert primarily selling your own time.

  • You are a passive investor or holding company owner who does not operate the business day to day.

  • You are a salaried executive without significant long-term economic upside in the business.

  • Your company is below 500,000 USD in annual revenue and has not raised significant external capital.

  • You cannot commit to attending and engaging in a 3-to-4-hour peer advisory session each month.

You do not have to be “perfectly” aligned on every point to apply. However, the closer you are to this profile, the more likely it is that we can place you in a circle where the conversations, challenges, and opportunities will truly match your level.
